I hiked breifly off of West Side Road in the mountains and saw bear tracks.

The tracks were in damp mud at the bottom of a canyon. Black bears are shy and mostly avoid humans but the confined area meant that a bear might be unable to avoid me so I left.

This cliff is east of the canyon.
