I went to the mountains to look for a herd of elk. They graze along the edges of clearings in the late afternoon and evening. I explored the area and then went to a field were there might be elk. My camera needs work again so these pictures are not in focus. Some look good anyway so I put them here. I want to try some photos of the Milky Way and this is a good place to see it but with camera trouble I didn’t stay for that.

Horses were on and beside the road.

I explored another road on the way. This formation is 5 or 6 feet tall. It was next to the road. There was a wonderful aroma here.

Springs supply the water for this waterfall. It is at least 40 feet high.

The field is above the waterfall. These trees are in the area. I like the colors here.

8200 feet elevation.

There was an elk in the forest. I hid and waited but none came into the field. On the way home I saw herd of 15 or more from the truck. There was plenty of light to see them but my low light photography skills need improvement.
