This is my Christmas card for 2003. It is a computer graphics picture as are my other Christmas pictures. Each picture is customized with the recipient’s name on the Nice list.
Some objects, like the candles and candle holders have completely artificial, or program generated, textures while others have photographs or drawings wrapped around them. Santa’s hand has an animation skeleton so the fingers can be moved. This allowed me to position the fingers to hold the pen. I used a program to grow the two thousand fur filaments of Santa’s cuff on a torus. I found the aurora photograph on the internet and added the Star of Bethlehem. Santa’s view of time is shown on his clock.
At first, I planned whimsical Santa style designs for the room and to add toys to the scene. That would have taken too long.
