This was a non-entry in a computer graphics contest with the theme Aquarium. I didn’t enter it because I won the previous contest and so I was running this one. The MC traditionally does not enter a contest he runs. Also I used pre-made models which is against contest rules. Here is more.
Intending to make a funny picture but not really a contest entry I used models that came with trueSpace and used Daz Studio for the character and his clothes. I modeled the window frame, room, letters, and the river bottom and sides.
While the contestants made pretty images of fish, treasure chests, and plants I made one of a window into some river in Chicago with junk and “concrete galoshes”.
This is the image of the river bottom in the window. I made the character in Daz and gave him clothes and hair that came with that program. Then I transferred him to Bryce. The chairs, stove, phone, and car came with trueSpace. I used Bryce for the river image because it has volumetric materials which worked well for the underwater effect.
Then I used the river image as a texture on a plane behind the window in trueSpace and rendered the finished image there.
