This is a charcoal drawing of a balsa wood sculpture. I made the sculpture earlier from the wood left after building a model rocket.

While preparing this piece for display on computers I realized that few drawings or paintings have art objects as the subject. With that in mind I was unsure whether the drawing is an abstract since the sculpture is, or if it is realism since it is an accurate portrayal of a real object.

Creating this drawing improved my grasp of perspective and proportion.
